Thinking great thoughts...

When I woke up this morning, Isaiah 41 was on my mind so I figured I needed to read that! It's about the ways in which God can help - in this case, Israel - but it bodes well for us, because God declares 'I myself will help you' and I believe wholeheartedly that He will... if we only allow it and expect it.

[Please keep in mind, dear reader, that this writing it down mularkey is much easier than actually living it out!!]

My John Ortberg chapter was titled 'Think Great Thoughts.' It provided me with some provoking material about how I choose to think - yep, we CAN choose what we think - and how I can lose old habits and thought patterns.

Just look at Romans 12:2... this is the New Living translation...
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

So here is where I have to stop trying HARDER and learn to try SOFTER - allowing God in to do His thing!!

Today's little bit of writing...

There is a God - it is NOT me!
Today I will think great thoughts.
I will set my mind on the ways of God,
I will not allow emotion to rule.
I am loved.
I am redeemed.
The price for all my rubbish is paid -
it is gone to the tip.
I will stop digging to try and rediscover it.
I will consciously listen for The Spirit
directing me in the ways of grace.
I'm called to live a right life
even though I struggle with wrong.
I will be helped.
I will be lovingly corrected.
I am chosen.
I am free.

Lord, lead me in the way of justice, mercy and grace.
