Twenty twelve... hearing God?

I'm always somewhat surprised at the rapid passing of time (allegedly a sign of getting older) but here we are again, the beginning of yet another year.

I'm in a thoughtful mood... 2011 was a very mixed year and it ended, for me personally, on a number of negatives which I've really struggled with.
Both work and church have presented challenges and I begin 2012 asking God to make it abundantly clear just where He wants me to be.
I am open, I am willing, my greatest desire is to serve God... so is He really giving me the silent treatment or am I just missing some very obvious signs?
I don't have a definitive answer but I do trust that the God who loves me has plans for me and I pray I'll know them sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile I'm hoping to do a few positive things, one of which involves my photography... I'm going to attempt to take pictures every day over the next year, a kind of photo-blog if you will. the first two offerings are following...

1/365 January 1st - We took Bruno (our tiny brown Lab) for a long work in the woods at NT property, Blickling Hall. The light was poor and opportunities fairly limited but there were a few others out with their canine friends and this group with their dogs caught my eye as they walked over the fields. Photo purists might say it's rather flat (lack of good light) and that the subjects should be walking INto the frame rather than out of it, but hey... you have to do what you can with what you have, right?

2/356 January 2nd - I recently had a half-day shoot with a pro landscape photographer and he brought me here, to St.Benet's Level. I loved the location so much I couldn't wait to return and bring Graham along with me. Quite aside from the Mill (and Thurne Mill in the distance) there were 'other attractions' in the form of wildlife... today we say Chinese Water Deer, Barn Owls, a Tawny Owl and a couple of unspecified birds of prey :)  Think I'll be going back... often!!
